What are the system requirements?[]
NESmaker is available for Windows only, and requires .NET Framework 4.5. Windows 7 or later versions of Windows.
Can I use NESmaker on other operating systems?[]
NESmaker is available for Windows only, but you can use a virtual machine to run it on other operating systems such as Macintosh or Linux.
What kind of games can NESmaker make?[]
It can make virtually any game the NES is capable of playing. Your knowledge, skills and perseverance is the limit here.
Can I play my game on an Everdrive/PowerPak?[]

Can I play my game on clone consoles?[]
It depends on the console; there are a handful of clones that don't work with Mapper 30.
What is Mapper 30?[]
Mapper30 (UNROM512) is a fairly simple, versatile mapper, it allows the use of flash-based saving, and animated tiles. However, it has two drawbacks - limited emulator support (Mesen is the official recommendation), and the lack of a scanline counter.
Where can I learn to code 6502 ASM (Assembly)?[]
ASM coding is not a requirement for making games with NESmaker. However, knowledge of it can help you out when doing advanced tasks such as modifying scripts. Here is a good tutorial by Nick Morgan to get started. It will provide you the basics and lead you to other places to learn more about it.
Can I make music and sound effects with NESmaker?[]
NESmaker can import music and sound effects made with FamiTracker. NESmaker uses a variation of the GGsound music engine, which means it has several limitations regarding what can be imported. CutterCross has an excellent forum post on this.
Can I sell my game?[]
